We experience great events from a unique perspective. We do not only see the colours, the music, the costumes. We see structures, processes, risks and prevention. And that is precisely why it fills me with pride to see how precisely and reliably our Safety Line team supported the Wiesbaden carnival parade.
Yesterday, on Carnival Sunday, 15 February 2026, it was that time again: Around 350,000 people streamed into the city centre to celebrate the 180 carnival floats and the 5,200 participants in the parade. Despite temperatures of around 3 degrees celcius, a brief snow shower at the start, and noticeable cold, the atmosphere was lively and cheerful. It is exactly this spirit that motivates us every year to give our all for optimum event security.
This year, 88 colleagues from Safety Line were deployed on site – a record number that reflects the scale of this event. Our tasks ranged from vehicle access protection and entry controls to crowd management and securing the entire route. The staffing requirements for an event of this magnitude are enormous – and it is crucial that everyone involved works seamlessly together. That was exactly the case yesterday.
The parade began with a delay of 27 minutes. The reason was that the vehicle access protection had not yet been fully activated and cleared by the police. The police only authorised the start of the parade once all safety approvals were in place.
This is prevention in practice. And prevention is at the heart of an effective security concept. That the police and organisers later described the overall situation as “relatively calm” confirms it: the concept worked.
At a major event with hundreds of thousands of people, isolated incidents can unfortunately never be entirely ruled out. Yesterday, there were also reports of assaults and sexual offences. What matters, however, is this: there were no exceptional or serious disturbances. The cooperation between the police, fire brigade, medical services and our teams worked smoothly. Routes remained clear, communication was precise, and processes were stable.
Yes, it was cold. Very cold. But the visitors’ spirit almost made the temperatures fade into the background. Everywhere there were cheerful faces, creative costumes, and a wonderful atmosphere – that is what Wiesbaden carnival is all about. And that is exactly why we take part every year with full conviction.
Visibility does not come from advertising alone. Visibility comes from performance. We want to support people with our services and, from time to time, be there for the wider public. Safety Line has accompanied the Wiesbaden carnival parade for many years – and every year shows why:
Yesterday, 350,000 people were able to celebrate – safely, relaxed, and without any major incidents.
The 2026 carnival parade in Wiesbaden was a prime example of how professional security work operates in the background without drawing attention to itself. Our 88 staff members demonstrated what is possible when expertise, team spirit, and a sense of responsibility come together.
