In May, Safety Line celebrates its 25th anniversary – an opportunity to look back at the story of a man who acted out of conviction and built a company that is still shaped by his values today: Siegfried Renner.

From construction technician to entrepreneur – the path to security

Siegfried Renner comes from Potsdam and moved to the Federal Republic in 1984. He originally trained as a construction technician, but his professional path took him in a completely different direction. As a career changer, he started working at a large security company and worked his way up to operations manager. This journey shaped him – both professionally and personally. Over the years, the desire grew to build his own security company where he could bring his vision of reliability and service to life.

The decision to become self‑employed

In the middle of his professional career, Siegfried Renner made the decision to become self‑employed. Exactly ten years after entering the security industry, he founded Safety Line Security & Service e.K. on May 1st, 2001.

The early years were marked by long days, irregular working hours, and spontaneous requests—often at times when others were already enjoying their weekend. But Siegfried Renner was someone who embraced challenges and felt comfortable taking responsibility. He was satisfied when the customer was happy.

In addition, in 2015, Siegfried Renner founded another company called TerraSec e.K., which operated exclusively in the field of special events. This included carnival parades, the world’s largest heavy metal festival, Wacken, as well as various trade fairs.

Trust that paved the way

As the decision to become self‑employed took shape, Mr. Renner began establishing contacts. Many promised they would give him a contract, but when the time came, only one company kept its word. Early on, a chemical company entrusted him with the responsible tasks of property protection. This assignment became the starting point of a long‑term collaboration and paved the way to the next important area of work: Kloster Eberbach, which later became a client in the fields of property protection and event support.

The person behind Safety Line

Of course, Siegfried Renner was not only the managing director of an owner‑operated company, but also had—and still has—a private life. He loves motorsports, is a passionate heavy metal enthusiast, and regularly attends the Wacken festival and other concerts, often accepting long travel distances to do so. He is also a member of the International Society for Human Rights—an involvement that reflects his values very well. Siegfried Renner has been happily married since September 9th, 1999.

Association work and charity

On October 1st, 2011, Siegfried Renner joined the BDSW with his company and became actively involved. It was also important to him to give something back to society. He regularly participated in donation campaigns—such as for Kloster Eberbach, various associations, or a children’s newspaper on traffic rules initiated by the police.

A founder in retirement – yet still involved

Today, Siegfried Renner enjoys his retirement. But Safety Line remains part of his life’s work. That’s why he continues to offer advice and support whenever he is needed.

In summary:
25 years of Safety Line – shaped by character, heart, and craftsmanship

Over the past 25 years, Safety Line has grown into a stable security company that embodies trust, reliability, and personal commitment. The company’s history is closely tied to the personality of Siegfried Renner—his dedication, his understanding of service, his persistence, and his joy in taking on challenges. The 25th anniversary is therefore both a company milestone and a tribute to a founder who created a business that continues to uphold his values.
