This week, from May 6 to May 7, 2026, Safety Line Security & Service GmbH traveled to Berlin to attend the 59th Annual General Meeting of the Federal Association of the Security Industry (BDSW). Under the theme “Security in Transition – Responsibility, Resilience, Future,” the industry gathered at the NH Collection Berlin Mitte to discuss current developments, new challenges, and the future of the security sector. Here is our look back.
On site were Safety Line Managing Director Matthias Herteux and Operations Manager Lennart Martin, who were able to hold numerous discussions with industry colleagues, associations, and partners:
“Events like the BDSW Annual General Meeting are a valuable opportunity for us to engage in direct, personal exchange with colleagues and peers from the industry. Through this shared dialogue, current challenges in the security sector are discussed and solutions are developed. Far removed from video conferences and emails, such industry gatherings provide a welcome chance to discover new perspectives,” said Lennart Martin about the event.
"The certificate is a sign of how important continuity, quality, and commitment are in our industry."
– Matthias Herteux, CEO
The presentations in Berlin made it clear what changes the security industry is currently facing. While Dr. Timo Hauschild focused on digital security risks and resilient supply chains, Steffen Kampeter addressed the impact of the labor market on the economy and the security sector. Alexander Frank contributed a European perspective on crisis preparedness and cooperation. At the opening of the event, BDSW President Werner Landstorfer also emphasized that modern security concepts can only function through the interaction of private companies, authorities, and political stakeholders.
For this very reason, association work is an important part of the daily activities of Safety Line Security & Service GmbH within the industry. The Federal Association of the Security Industry offers companies the opportunity to exchange experiences, identify developments at an early stage, and strengthen common positions within the sector.
Especially in times of increasing demands and ever more complex security situations, such networks are a key factor in the further development of the private security industry.
In addition to the professional topics, there was of course also time for conversations during the joint lunch reception and the supporting program in Berlin. It is precisely in these moments that the best ideas, new connections, and a shared understanding of where the industry needs to develop often emerge.
For Safety Line, the event was therefore more than just a date in the calendar – it was a great moment to reflect on 25 years of company history while also looking ahead to the future.
